Benjamin has had works commissioned by St Paul's Cathedral, Choir & Organ Magazine, The Philharmonia Orchestra and the WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne. His music has been performed across the globe, broadcast on BBC Radio and published by Stainer & Bell and Oxford University Press. Benedicite
Commissioned by the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral in association with Choir and Organ magazine, this work for ATB choir and organ is a site-specific piece written for the unique acoustic space of St Paul's Cathedral.
Benedicite was premiered on 18th December 2016 and now forms part of cathedral's annual repertoire.
Snowbound
Suite for chamber orchestra commisioned by the Philharmonia Orchestra and premiered in Klosters in 2015 by members of the Philharmonia Orchestra and Philharmonia MMSF Instrumental Fellows.
Bodas de Sangre
One of two orchestral works commissioned by the WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne, Bodas de Sangre was recorded by the Funkhausorchester in 2014 with conductor Alexander Prior.
The Isle is Full of Noises
Setting of Caliban's speech from The Tempest for SATB chorus with divisi. This work was premiered in Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare and subsequenty selected for JAM's 2014 perfomance programme with Nicholas Cleobury
From Here to Eternity
This work began life as the winning entry to the 2014 Oticons Faculty Int'l Film Scoring Competition. An extended version of the original sketch was commissioned by the WDR Funkhausorchester, who recorded the finished work at the Großer Sendesaal in Cologne.
Grainger Piano Concerto
In 2014 Benjamin was commissioned to realise and complete Percy Grainger's previously unperformed Piano Concerto from the composer's 1986 sketches. The work was premiered in Kings Place in October 2014 by pianist Penelope Thwaites and and chamber orchestra led by members of the Fitzwilliam Quartet.
Come Down, O Love Divine
Work for unaccompanied double chorus that draws on material from Ralph Vaughan Williams' Down Ampney, used with the permission of the Vaughan Williams Estate. The work was written especially for the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music in 2013, and premiered in St Gabriel's Church, Pimlico.
Everyone Sang
Commemorative work for chamber choir and soprano solo that splices texts by Sidney Keyes and Siegfried Sassoon. Everyone Sang Received its premier on Armistice Day as part of the Pinner Music Festival.
